Support Ankekuluk Initiative
Ankekuluk is at a defining moment.
We’ve built the program model and secured the site. The leadership and initial partnerships are in place. What’s needed now is the funding that allows this work to launch and to last.
There are two clear ways to support Ankekuluk, each critical to our ability to serve Inuit youth with care, continuity, and accountability.
Door 1: Fuel the Launch
The Bridge
Goal: $275,000 by June 2026
What it does:
This is our rocket fuel. Bridge funding allows us to move from readiness to delivery.
Fueling the launch:
- Hires our first Program Director
- Gets transportation and logistics in place
- Covers the planning and operational costs required to launch our first season of programming this year
This funding proves Ankekuluk is ready to go and ensures youth will not wait for systems to catch up.

The Capital Campaign
Goal: $1.617 million by June 30, 2026
What it does:
This secures Bluewater Lodge in Lewisporte, Newfoundland, as a permanent, land‑based home for the Ankekuluk program.
Owning the site creates:
- Long‑term stability for Inuit youth programming
- Reduced operating risk and greater funder confidence
- A permanent place for intergenerational learning, mentorship, and return
This is a 100‑year legacy investment. Major naming opportunities are available.

Ankekuluk builds on shared responsibility.
This initiative brings together Elders, educators, community leaders, youth voices, and partner organizations. Each contributes distinct knowledge and accountability. Partnerships are not symbolic; they shape, deliver, and sustain the program.
Our day-to-day work reflects our partnerships:
- Indigenous leadership and Elder guidance embedded in program design and delivery
- Land‑based programming grounded in Inuit knowledge and lived experience
- Education, supported by long‑term Nunavut educators
- Long‑term commitment to youth, extending beyond a single session or season
Why invest in Ankekuluk?
Ankekuluk addresses a critical and well‑documented gap for Inuit youth: access to prevention‑focused, land‑based programming that connects wellness with education, skills development, and future pathways.
Funders and partners invest in Ankekuluk because the program is:
- Community‑grounded, shaped by Inuit voices and priorities
- Prevention‑focused, supporting youth before crisis
- Built for the future, staying connected after youth return home
- Aligned with education pathways, not disconnected from school systems
- Systems, staffing, and safeguards in place
Program readiness and responsible stewardship
Ankekuluk has made significant investments in readiness to guarantee responsible funding use and the safe support of youth.
This includes:
- A dedicated rural, land‑based program site
- Safeguarding and risk‑management frameworks
- Elder involvement and trained staff
- Financial and administrative systems that support transparency and accountability
- Coordinated delivery with educators and community partners
This infrastructure ensures that funding translates directly into safe, effective programming.
